Our Philosophy on the Process

Our philosophy of staying connected to the culture that shaped our values and views allows us to tap into principles that are deeply connected to ancient cultural practices. Ayurveda is one of the oldest components of the traditional systems of medicine (TSMs) considered to be accepted as an ancient wisdom that takes a holistic approach to helping human beings based on several principles.

We strongly believe in the holistic process of combining ayurveda - alongside other practices such as naturopathy, homeopathy, sidddha, unani and yoga to develop a strong foundation for restoring balance to your health.

Here we provide a quick glimpse and overview of Ayurvedic pillars:

The Five Elements

Ayurveda views the universe and the entire cosmos in an interplay of the energies of the five great elements that make up everything: space, air, fire, water, and earth. These elements are present in all entities around us, including the human body. Our objective is to restore the body's wellness through careful consideration and exploration of the teas, tonics and tinctures that contain a balanced combination of the main elements to help us all.

The Three Doshas

The five elements combine to form three doshas, or life forces, that control how the body works:
    •    Vata: Associated with space and air, this dosha controls movement and electrolyte balance.
    •    Pitta: Associated with fire and water, this dosha controls hunger, thirst, and body temperature.
    •    Kapha: Associated with water and earth, this dosha promotes joint function.

The Ayurvedic Diet

The Ayurvedic diet is based on determining your dominant dosha and eating specific foods to promote balance between all three doshas. Some dietary principles include avoiding processed foods, leftovers, raw foods, and ice-cold foods and drinks.

The Twenty Gunas

The Twenty Gunas, or qualities, are a major basis for herbal therapies, dietary recommendations, and disease treatment. Substances with similar qualities aggravate the corresponding dosha, while substances with opposite qualities pacify it.

The Causes of Imbalance

Ayurveda focuses on the causes of psychosomatic imbalance, which precedes disease. Symptoms are seen as signals that the body needs correction. Sometimes referred to as the “science of longevity” because it offers a complete system to live a long healthy life, Ayurveda is the basis for how we navigate through the process of assembling our beverages.

The Sesa Teas + Tonics

We firmly believe that with the appropriate combination of pure teas, tonics and herbal blends that have been used as healthy beverages, energy drinks, digestive support, and sleep aids for thousands of years will continue to help us all restore balance to the body. We know by using the products ourselves that it's critically important to take a proactive and preventative stance to protect the body from disease, encourage positive gut health, improve digestion and boost mental health.
